Media Studies (Film Opening) Week 3 - Storyline / Casting / Detailing
When we found music, we tried to put it out on the editing software that we might use for final production, 'Adobe Premiere Pro'. We tried some transitions (dissolve) and practiced some editing skills. We also decided how we are going to pay for 'Adobe Premiere Pro (all of us) and who's laptop we are going to use (we are using Ruguosier's laptop), because in this country we cannot share any accounts due to the copyright and usage laws issues. It was good to try them out and discuss everything that we need for the editing part in the last part.
Also, we ask ourselves a question about the main character. (How are we showing her personality and how the main character's best friend is going to leave the main character?)

Today, we shared our previous working document that we did individually last term and made a list that we need to fill out while we are working on this final project. We decided what we needed to do first and what we should think about after we made the final story. We each had different perspectives; we couldn't make decisions very easily. But we made some brief story openings. Therefore, I think if we keep this and add details to it, we can make a great product. We had additional discussion that was not about the story of our project. But we looked through some transitions and had a discussion about the characters that we needed to use.
We talked about some editing parts and had a look at the transition, altering scenes, and many examples or samples.

Today, we didn't discuss or give some ideas individually. We shared each of our final production planners from the last term of school's individual project, which includes details (intentions, audience, settings, etc.). And we've gone through what was finalized for our project from the first week of planning, which was written onto a shared document. So far, we've got an audience (primary target: 14–18; we have clarified the audience more specifically) and characters.
Ideas weren't additionally added, but it gave us an opportunity to think about why we chose current progress, like, Why is our main character a girl? (John) What can happen if the friend of the main character is of the same sex? What if it was different? What happens if we choose an extrovert instead of an introvert? I additionally tried to explore the introvert and extrovert aspects; if we use introverts, it'd be easier to describe and set the background and other settings, but extroverts would rather be new and give some more insight to explore complicated details. Because, as we compare extrovert and introvert teen films, introverts are easy to make and commonly used for teen movies, but if we use extroverts,
I felt it would be very unique and special to me. Also, in the shared document, we put some outlines of our plan (steps) for the project. And in the document, we wrote something that we could learn from our project, which was great to know what others think about our project and to encourage each other. but extroverts would rather be new and give some more insight to explore complicated details. For the protagonist, we chose a girl at first, but as long as we are not making the film genre romance, we should make the genders of her friends the same as her, "girl and girl" for the protagonists.
I have asked my friend, who loves film and who has a camera, to borrow his camera. And he is willing to help us, so we got the camera, which is a Canon EOS 250D. We will use it for filming scenes.

Today, we added many ideas to our planning document.
I added the ideas:
We decided on the location part, mostly school (memory from the past or when the protagonist recovers from the depressive memory), and house. We will not use much lighting unless we are not using a very dark scene, so we will use mostly natural lights.
We chose me as the protagonist because we believed I would express myself better than others. Because I know the story and I wrote the story, I have also experienced the other film as an actress; therefore, we decided on me as an actress for our film.
We talked about how important the production planning document is, which can keep a record of things and not confuse any ideas that we were talking about. We were also using our Google Group Chat to record some ideas and discuss them outside of school.
And as one antagonist, we thought the situation in which the protagonist is faced could be the antagonist, even if he is not a human.
We discussed some extra ideas for our opening, but nothing has been confirmed completely. We also discussed and clarified what we discussed last time.
